Over the course of preproduction I ended up with a team of 9 draftspeople. This was a tremendous amount of help but also would require a great deal of communication to keep the project on track. I wrote up this brief to my team to explain in detail the expectations and procedures we would follow to keep the project organized and tidy.
With so many concurrent draftspeople drawing items that needed to interact at a variety of joints and onstage locations, I implemented the use of X-referencing to enable me to double check the team's work and address problems that arose.
This is the Technical Ground Plan for the Upper level of our scenic design.
This is the Technical Ground Plan for the Lower level of our scenic design.
Outside of organizing and maintaining the project, I additionally drafted a few projects, including this plate from the Escape stairs that would be located Stage Right to allow our performers to ascend/descend from the faux water tower.
On stage left, another escape stair was needed for access to the upper level of the "Public Amenities Building." The construction of these escape stairs utilizes stress skin platforms, 2x4 handrails & stud walls, and 2x12 stair stringers.
